It was a real pleasure to spend time with so many local residents at Netherton Fun Day this weekend. From catching up with families and community groups to meeting local volunteers and enjoying the fantastic atmosphere, it was a wonderful celebration of everything that makes our community so special.

A huge thank you to everyone who organised the event and to all the volunteers, performers and local organisations who gave up their time to make it such a success. Events like this don’t happen without an enormous amount of hard work, and our community is all the stronger because of people who are willing to step up and make a difference.

The day also gave me the chance to reflect on another important milestone – two years since I was elected as the Member of Parliament for Stourbridge.

It has been the greatest privilege of my life to serve our community. Every day has brought new opportunities to help residents, champion local causes and stand up for Stourbridge in Parliament.

Over the past two years, my team and I have supported thousands of constituents with issues ranging from housing and benefits to immigration, pensions and healthcare. I’ve continued to hold regular advice surgeries across the constituency, met with local schools, charities, businesses and community groups, and worked to ensure the voices of people across Stourbridge are heard loud and clear in Westminster.

I’ve also been proud to campaign for improvements to our NHS, better transport, safer neighbourhoods, investment in our high streets and support for local businesses. While there is always more to do, I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and remain determined to keep delivering for local people.

Being your MP isn’t just about what happens in Parliament. It’s about being present in our communities, listening to residents, celebrating local success and helping people when they need it most. Whether it’s visiting schools, supporting community events like Netherton Fun Day or helping constituents resolve complex issues, every conversation helps shape the work I do.

I’m proud of what I’ve achieved so far, including championing the Steel industry in Parliament, speaking from lived experience on Universal Credit, using my NHS expertise in major health debates, raising the Duchenne muscular dystrophy campaign in Parliament, advocating for the rail industry and rail passengers, continuing to support hospitality businesses and ensuring that animal welfare remains on the agenda.

I continue to champion the amazing things going on locally, such as the recent visit from the Minister for Skills to Dudley College’s Skills Shop, and challenge issues with local provision, such as supporting campaigning around the Crystal Gateway Dementia Service, and challenging the Conservative led Dudley Council over their waste collection.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the past two years, whether you’ve contacted my office for help, invited me to visit your organisation, shared your views or simply stopped me for a chat while out and about. It is an honour to represent you, and I never take that responsibility for granted. As always, my team and I are here to help you with any casework!

I’m excited about what the future holds for Stourbridge, Brierley Hill and Netherton and look forward to continuing to work alongside residents, businesses, charities and community groups to make our area an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
