Celebrating the Life in Lye Mosaic Projects

I am delighted to celebrate the unveiling of the Life in Lye Mosaic Projects, a wonderful initiative that showcases the creativity and community spirit that make Lye such a special place.

The beautiful mosaics have been created through a series of inspiring sessions involving pupils from Wollescote and Rufford Primary Schools, alongside members of the adult group at Lye Library. Bringing together people of all ages, the project has provided an opportunity for local residents and young people to share ideas, develop new skills and work together to create something that will leave a lasting legacy for the community. It was fantastic to be able to attend one of the Saturday sessions at the library, and add a bit to the beautiful mosaic we created.

I would also like to thank the amazing artist Caroline Jariwala, whose talent, passion and guidance have helped bring the project to life. Her work has inspired participants and helped transform their ideas into beautiful pieces of public art for everyone to enjoy.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner for funding this fantastic project and helping to make it possible. This support has enabled local people to participate in a meaningful creative activity that strengthens community links and celebrates Lye’s identity.

Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved in creating these incredible mosaics. They are a wonderful celebration of Lye, its people and the power of community collaboration. The mosaics will be on display at the library and the schools, do check them out if you’re able to.
