I’ve heard from many people about the unfair plan 2 student loan repayments. The interest on these loans increases debt leaving graduates feeling it’s become a tax on aspiration.

I have co-signed this cross party letter urging the Chancellor to review the system, as recommended in the recent Treasury Select Committee report.

I welcome the Education Secretary’s recognition that reform is needed, and I look forward to continuing conversations on how we can better support graduates while maintaining a responsible fiscal approach
