One of the most important parts of my role as the Member of Parliament for Stourbridge is listening to constituents and working with our community to tackle the issues that matter most locally. Whether that is improving access to services, supporting community organisations, or bringing new opportunities into our area, I believe local voices should always shape the work I do in Parliament.
Over the past month I have been out across Stourbridge, Brierley Hill and Netherton meeting constituents, community groups, and local organisations to discuss the priorities for our area.
These conversations are invaluable and help ensure that the work I am doing both locally and in Westminster reflects the real experiences of people living and working here.
A good example of this is the recent visit of the CEDRIC digital bus to Wollaston Village Hall. The project, run by Halesowen College, brings technology and digital learning directly into communities to help tackle digital exclusion.
I was delighted to support this initiative alongside Councillor Jason Griffin and the team at the Village Hall, who worked hard to make the visit possible.
Digital skills are increasingly essential in everyday life, whether it is accessing public services, applying for jobs, or keeping in touch with family and friends. Projects like this help ensure that nobody in our community is left behind as more services move online.
I have also continued to meet with constituents about other local concerns, including transport links, policing, and support for our town centres. These conversations help inform the work I raise with Ministers, local authorities, and other organisations responsible for delivering services.
Stourbridge has a strong sense of community, and I am always inspired by the dedication of local volunteers, community groups and organisations who give their time to support others. Their work makes a real difference to people’s lives every day.
If you would like to raise a local issue or attend one of my future community events or surgeries, please keep an eye on my website and social media pages for updates.
I will continue working hard to ensure the voices of people in Stourbridge, Brierley Hill and Netherton are heard, and to deliver practical solutions to the issues that matter most to our community.
